Dr. Prem Bahadur Magar

Mr. Prem Bahadur Magar is a Scientist at National Plant Pathology Research Centre, Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC), Khumaltar, Lalitpur, Nepal. He received his Bachelor and Master degree in Agriculture with merit scholarship from Tribhuvan University (TU), Nepal in 2010 and 2013 respectively. His research experience is now over 6 years from the position he has held in the NARC. He had been involved in plant pathological research like wheat rust resistance breeding, collaborative project with commodity programs, national and international organizations on wheat rust pathology, disease diagnosis and mushroom research and technology generation. He started his carrier as a Teaching Assistant of Plant Pathology in the Institute of Agriculture and Animal Science, TU from February 2012 to January 2013. Also, he works as Research & Development Manager (Plant Pathology) in Karma & Sons Traders Pvt. Ltd. (Karma Group) in Kathmandu from May 2013 to March 2015. Later he joined NARC as a Scientist (S-1), Plant Pathology in Agriculture Research Station, Dasharathpur, Surkhet in 2015. He has authored and co-authored nine national and international journal articles and seven conference proceedings in his career to date. He also presented several posters related to wheat rust diseases in international workshops. He became a life member of Plant Protection Society Nepal, Kathmandu in 2017. He had also successfully completed five months of training on “Wheat Rust Pathology & Genetics” from The University of Sydney, Plant Breeding Institute Cobbitty under ACIAR funded project CIM/2014/081 in 2019.
