Dr. Santosh Kumar Bishnoi is a Scientist (Genetics and Plant Breeding) at ICAR-Indian Institute of Wheat and Barley Research, Karnal. He completed his PhD from Choudhary Charan Singh Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar. He has been associated with the development of wheat varieties for warmer areas and has released wheat variety DBWH 221 for high fertility conditions of Haryana state and associated in the development of 3 trait-specific genetic stocks identified by IIWBR, Karnal. He has been trained in the International Centre for Maize and Wheat Improvement, Mexico, and INIAF Bolivia, and has acquired expertise in breeding wheat genotypes for wheat blast resistance. While at ICAR-National Bureau of Plant Genetic Resources, Regional Station, Ranchi he has extensively explored and collected several highly important agri-horticultural germplasm and landraces from Eastern India. He has authored more than 30 book chapters and research papers in national and international journals.
